Biography - Bill Westling
I am a native Californian and a 1971 graduate of Whittier College. I was an English teacher in the Orange County School District and coached baseball at Pepperdine University from 1981 to 1985. I became a full time Financial Planner in 1985 and upon the purchase of our firm in 1990 by American Express, I began doing business as Multi-Benefits Analysis. Financial Network Investment Corporation was my broker dealer until 2012 when they had a name change to Cetera Advisor Networks. In early 2024, I decided to leave Cetera for LPL Financial, LLC. LPL is the largest independently managed broker dealer in the country* with over 23,000 representatives and more than $1 Trillion in client assets under management.
My clients initially were closely held corporate owners (10-250 employees), but I have since expanded my client base to include professional corporations. My specialties include Estate & Trust planning, Business Continuity planning, Life Insurance and Qualified Retirement Plans, with an emphasis as the investment advisor to clients' retirement plans and personal portfolios. I participate in ongoing Estate & Investment Planning courses & have conducted numerous financial & investment planning seminars in the Southern California area.
I am committed to providing quality personalized service to each and every one of my clients and adhere to the professional management, as stated by Judge Samuel Putnam in 1830, “Those with responsibility to invest money for others should act with prudence, discretion, intelligence, and regard for the safety of capital.” I take great pride in adhering to this philosophy and in maintaining my clients' awareness and comfort level in regard to their financial situations.
